My topic of choice here is probably going to be what it is like to be the president of an organization.
I'm going to research or really just look into how other people with the same position handle the stress and workload that goes along with it. This could include different interviews from people as from other organizations similar to mine or even the President of the United States.
For this piece I'd probably interview presidents from other clubs and organizations on campus that I know to see how they handle their positions, maybe Interim President Jones if she's available, and then maybe branch out to the president of a local company in this area.
For a first person narrative, the benefits of writing this piece as a first person narrative are that other people can relate to what I'm going through, it gets my thoughts about holding this position across, and it will give me a chance to branch out and talk to others in my position and possible form relationships and connections.
For an opinion piece I would probably change direction and write how holding an executive board position or being a president makes people better leaders than those who don't step up and take those positions. The benefits would be to try and encourage others to take on bigger roles and join different clubs and organization, and/or step up in their clubs and organizations. My interviews would similar to the first person narrative piece; however, I would include other people who hold positions along with the presidents.
