I believe that for each type and/or style of writing it takes different personality traits based on the severity of the topic at hand and how the writer wants to be portrayed. When writing creatively, I feel as though writers have a wider variety of personality traits, because when you write creatively it's whatever you the writer feels like writing about. I don't actually feel like you have to be an overly creative person to write creatively either, because sometimes that can take away from your work. For instance, overly creative people, in my opinion, try to do too many things all at once in a work and it can actually take away from what the writer is trying to get across to his/her readers. I feel to write creatively, all you need is the ability to use your imagination, because if you can think it, you can write it.
Journalistically on the other hand, I feel like the personality traits are more easily recognizable, because in journalism you do not want be biased or opinionated - you report the facts. So if a writer cannot do these things, then he/she do not have the personality traits of a journalist. Now, there are some instances in which journalists can use their opinions, followed by proof to support their claims; however, the instances in which these occur are slim. Opinion columns are those writers basic options. However, it should be known that just because journalists are reporting the facts, it does not mean that they do not have the possibility to do so creatively. Good or more so great journalists, are able to write so creatively while reporting the facts that they can paint a picture or the scene allowing readers to feel like they are there themselves, and know the people the writers are talking about.
When it comes to writing academically, I feel like you have to have a curious personality. By this is mean that those who chose to write academically, should have a love for researching and finding out the facts.
